BEYOND THE HORIZON: Announcing Our Partnership with Red Crest Adventures
Share
Sun’s just peaking over the high-desert ridge. Out here, the air is thin, the light is golden, and the silence is heavy. It’s the kind of morning that demands a strong cup and a clear head. For us at Coppertop Coffee & Trading Co., this isn’t just where we live: it’s how we work. We’ve always said we make coffee for the people who get their hands dirty and their boots dusty. Today, we’re taking that mission one step further into the wild.
We are officially announcing our partnership with Red Crest Adventures.
This isn't just a corporate handshake or a logo swap. This is a union of two crews built for open-ended travel, self-directed miles, and connected and intentional journeys shaped by the places people move through. Red Crest Adventures is an adventure-based travel booking engine that handles flights and car rentals. It’s built for travel that stays rooted in real ground, real communities, and landscapes that invite exploration. "Journeys shaped by land, history, creativity and community." "Journeys built around real places." Moving forward, Coppertop Coffee is the official fuel for every Red Crest run.
Two Brands, One Hardworking Spirit

When we first sat down with the team at Red Crest, it didn't take long to realize we were cut from the same cloth. Their logo tells the story: a circular compass rose framing a sharp, red mountain peak. It’s a symbol for those who seek true north and aren't afraid of the climb.
At Coppertop, our "From the Ground. For the People" philosophy mirrors that exactly. We value ruggedness. We value the spirit of adventure. Most importantly, we value the hardworking spirit. Whether you’re roasting small batches over a cooling tray in the warehouse or navigating a technical descent in the canyonlands, the mindset is the same: do it right, do it with intention, and never settle for "good enough."
Red Crest Adventures provides the inspiration and the gear for people to push their limits on their own terms. The mission is independent exploration into the heart of the wilderness, with room for everyday travel too: places where a cell signal is a myth and self-reliance is the only currency. They needed a coffee partner that could keep up. No watered-down, instant packets. No weak brews. They needed fuel that tastes as bold as the terrain they travel through.
The Engine Behind the Expedition
While we’re keeping some secrets in the back room for future collaborations, we aren’t launching a new blend today. Why? Because our current lineup is already built for this. When you’re miles from civilization, you need a roast that’s reliable, consistent, and punchy.
We’ve selected three heavy hitters from our collection to serve as the engine for the upcoming Red Crest season.
1. The 6Bean Blend
This is the workhorse. A meticulous combination of beans from six different origins, roasted to a dark, oily perfection. It’s complex, it’s smooth, and it delivers a caffeine kick that can jumpstart a cold morning at 10,000 feet. It’s a strong pick for independent travelers who are first ones awake and last ones to hit the sleeping bag. 🌿 Shop 6Bean
2. Cowboy Blend
You can’t head into the backcountry without a nod to the classics. Our Cowboy Blend is a dark and medium roast mix that brings out a cocoa-heavy, earthy profile. It’s meant to be brewed over a campfire, enjoyed in an enamel mug, and shared among friends after a twenty-mile day. ☕ Order Cowboy
3. Mexico Single Origin
For the explorers who appreciate the nuances of the landscape, the Mexico Single Origin is the go-to. It’s clean, balanced, and bright. It represents the "dusty elegance" we strive for: refined enough to be specialty grade, but rugged enough to be enjoyed in the dirt. 🏔️ Explore Mexico

Cultural Connection: The Highlands of Mexico
Since our Mexico Single Origin is a cornerstone of this partnership, we want to look closer at the land that produces it. Adventure isn't just about the trail; it's about the connection to the people and the places that sustain us.
The beans in our Mexico roast often hail from the high-altitude regions of Chiapas and Oaxaca. These are areas defined by rugged mountain ranges and deep cultural roots. If you’re a Red Crest regular looking for your next international scouting trip, these regions offer more than just world-class coffee.
Where to Go
- San Cristóbal de las Casas: This is the heart of the Chiapas highlands. It’s a city where the air is cool and the streets are lined with cobblestones. It serves as a perfect basecamp for exploring the surrounding indigenous villages and high-altitude forests.
- The Sierra Madre de Chiapas: For the hikers, this range offers some of the most dramatic terrain in North America. The biodiversity is staggering, and the trails are demanding.
Exploring Tips
- Visit a Coffee Finca: Don't just drink the brew: see where it starts. Many small-batch producers in the region offer tours. It’s a masterclass in the hardworking spirit. You’ll see the manual labor, the careful sorting, and the dedication to the land.
- Local Artisan Spots: Look for the textile cooperatives in the highlands. The precision in their weaving mirrors the precision we look for in a perfect roast profile.
- Market Days: Hit the local markets early. It’s where the community gathers. Grab some local cacao, a bag of fresh beans, and talk to the people who know the land best.
Connecting with the origin of your coffee turns a morning ritual into a global journey. It reminds us that every sip is tied to a specific patch of ground and a specific group of people.

More Than a Partnership: A Shared Mission
What does this mean for you? It means you’re going to see a lot more "Red Crest X Coppertop" out in the wild.
We believe that high-quality coffee shouldn't be reserved for the kitchen counter. It belongs in the pack. It belongs at the summit. It belongs in the hands of the person who spent the day mapping a new route through the canyon.
Red Crest Adventures represents the spirit of independent outdoor exploration through connected and intentional journeys. They don’t sell guided tours, and they don't frame adventure as something that has to be led from the front. Instead, they empower people to build their own route, choose their own pace, and travel through regions defined by what they grow, make, and preserve. Neither do we. By joining forces, we’re ensuring that the "trail less traveled" is always fueled by the best beans on the planet.
This partnership is a commitment to the community. We aren't just selling products; we’re backing a lifestyle. A lifestyle that values the early wake-up calls, the physical effort of the trek, and the quiet satisfaction of a job well done.
